Blind Judo players wreck sighted ones all the time. Why is this implausible?

Man blind and sight impaired people can still do fine in grappling comps.

Funnily enough, my coach had me randori with my eyes shut last Tuesday (minus grip fighting) because I have the nasty habit of looking down at my opponent's feet all the time.

So it's not implausable at all, blind Judo players rock.

After being shot in the head in the late 90's, my instructor was left legally blind while still a blue belt. It took him a year and a half to get back on the mat, but he has gone on to get his black belt. He also competed in the heavyweight division, winning gold, and the absolute division, winning silver, at the 2003 Pan-Ams.

Being blind doesn't seem to hold him back on the mat.
Shut the hell up and train.

I frequently roll with my eyes closed. I have poor vision and if I go without my glasses for more then 30 minutes I start to get a headache. So if that happens in class I just close my eyes while i'm rolling. Its freaked a few people out and a few people thought I was being cocky (as if someone of my shitty skill could be cocky). Once you get used to it though you realize seeing isnt' that important if someone is only trying to grapple you. As long as he maintains contact you can feel what he is doing.

I've too have met and trained with blind Judoka and even Karateka but grappling doesn't really require sight once you have old of the person.

But also know that some of the blind pple are just sight impaired. They can see but not well.

William Vandry, right? It is scary how good that guy is. The Machados seem to have a really high expectation out of their black belts and Vandry does not disappoint.
