There was even one Canuck arrested for registering his cordless Black and Decker drill. That was just awesome. It seems the officials were mostly angry that the registration went through and was undetected until he called them and told them about it.

I thought the Glock 18 was a Full Automatic sold of Law Enforcement Only?

Either way a Full Automatic Pistol would be something to learn on.

    You're making my head hurt.

The Glock 18 is a 9mm selective fire Glock. Essentially, it's a Glock 17 with a selector switch. It's a lot of fun.

Because it was designed and all samples were built after 1986, it's available to law enforcement and military, but not to private citizens--EXCEPT people who register as SOT (Special Occupation Taxpayer) so they can deal in or manufacture firearms. These people can posses "Post Samples" meaning post-1986 machine guns to be used as dealer samples to sell to police agencies and other official buyers.

The short version of all this is that while you're unlikely to encounter a Glock 18, they ARE out there, and some ranges rent full-auto firearms. Being able to rent a Glock 18 would be somewhat rare, but there's probably someone out there with one for rent.

Even in a state like Illinois where private citizens can't own full auto, period, I can still drive an hour and rent anything from an MP5 to a Browning M2 .50BMG heavy machine gun. It's an expensive way to kill a minute and a half, though.

This is a link to a guy I trust discussing renting a Glock 18 at a range in Michigan. Justin posts as GigaBuist at www.thehighroad.org and is not one to BS:
