Heel hooks are illeagal in Pankration at all levels. The Ref's watch all the matches closely and we use two of them in case one is not in position to notice something.

In 4 years we have never had a kid injured. Not to say it can't happen as in all dynamic sports with contact there is that chance. But Pankration is no more dangerous than wrestling, karate and submsission wrestling and safer than football and skateboarding.

Who else is doing this? There are three boys (brothers, 7-10) training judo and MMA with us, they'd love this.

Do you have a mailing list? Their Mom's family is in CA, who knows, maybe they'll visit.

Awesome, we've got a couple of youngin's at my school and they love it.

Flexible bastards though, scares the hell out ya sometime. I don't know how many times I have stopped a roll thinking "holy ****, my arm would be broken for sure" only to have them look at me and wonder why I stopped it.

Those kids were all great and the ref's seemed to be right on top of everything.

All those kids would have beaten me when I did Wing Chun :disgust:

That was fantastic to watch. What would they have been doing twenty years ago? Point sparring karate tournaments? I think this is great, brilliant for martial arts.

Nothing. But that isn't a bad thing. It'll encourage more kids to get into MA.

Besides, kids these days need a good beating.

Also ... that's what people THOUGHT taekwondo would do for their kids, teach them to be able to win fights. It just so happens that now they can learn something that will actually accomplish that.

What the heck was I doing before I was 15? Groing fat and believing the doctors that said I could do any sport because of my lungs! Damn...I was a late bloomer!

These kids are really cool, fast and focused for someone their age. I take my hat for them and their coaches and parents. The judging and rules seemed ok.:happy3:

    Awsome....

I will just say this, imagine if those kids keep training, imagine where will they be in combat ability by the age of 25/30

As everyone else, I wish I was tarining and competing in MMA by that age..
