In search of a martial art

Hi. In about three months I will be moving to the other side of the country. Recently my passion for martial arts have flaired up again and I have decided to start again (after having a completely terrible experience in MA).

I am moving to LaGrange, Georgia. I have searched the martial arts places in the area and I haven't really found any ones that I am particularly interested in except for one Boxing gym. I have only found two other martial arts studios in the area and one is this place called Team Keeth. I am skeptical of this place because of the high amount of children instructors and it doesn't specify what kind of Karate they instruct. Though, I do find the mention of them not teaching forms and the low amount of belts a tiny plus, it still doesn't sway me. The other martial arts in the area is some Tae Kwon Do place which I did before and really didn't have a good experience with it.

I was wondering if any of you can help find a quality place of instruction.

    Welcome aboard.

I had a look at that place called Team Keeth.

Its bullshit alright, stay away from it. When looking for a mmartial arts school to train at make sure they train hard and do sparring. Boxing is a great fighting style but the techniques of most striking arts are limited and repetitive. I would suggest looking at getting into some grappling with Judo or a wrestling club. If those are not available then yeah, go with boxing. It probably would be better than that dojo listed.

When I read this, I pictured someone smacking someone else over the head with a guitar Looney Tunes style...

Team Keeth is a joke alright. Stear clear of that place. It looks like a day care center to me.

It's a pretty good rule of thumb that anything calling itself Karate in the US is ****. There are acceptions of course, but they are few and far between.

Yeah, I never trusted them anyway. Keeth looks like a pedophile anyway.

If you can't find a better place to train then I agree with Hannibal, go with the boxing so you can have a better striking game. One of the things I've noticed about recent martial arts is they focus heavily on grappling and kicks to go with their technique, that's great and all but a lot of times you can dominate with a good standing up striking game and I've one many a fight without a single kick, it's become expected so I think boxing would do you a lot of good when applied to other styles in the future, you'd learn a lot of good habits.
