Burmese boxing greater than Muay Thai?

I recently heard of and saw some fights of Burmese Boxing. From the looks of it, it is muay thai without gloves, and HEADBUTTS are allowed. Have i stumbled upon the best form of kickboxing?

Meh, but only after they pump themselves up with strenght-enhancing drugs... I learned that after watching Ong-Bak... :tard: BWHWHAHAHAHAHAH

KK-kid, are you referring to the Lethwei clips at http://www.thaing.net/lethwei.htm ? Those are pretty interesting to watch.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Yes it's also muay thai without western boxings influence hence the fact their punching is somewhat sloppy. David Scott (my old sensei) included it in one of his books. Personally I love the way they fight in pits rather than rings for a real gladiatorial flavour.

From what I recall a MT person telling me, their fighting ruleset gives them really bad habits. Like falling down on purpose after throwing a failed technique. Burmese boxing matches aren't judged, you have to score a KO to win, so you can let yourself fall down without being penalized in any way to avoid the counterattack. This is just word of mouth, though, but you can clearly see that they fall down a lot in the vids.

Yes i went back and watched the lethwei fights and they do tend to fall down alot.

Muay Thai was done without gloves before, was it not?

Didn't Muay Thai have the same influence from the burmese anyways?
