Sucker punch is not technique, it is opportunity.

What is this "honor" you speak of? I am familiar with the terms "winning", and "losing". But not "honor".

I guess you're trying to say that you approve of the sucker punch.

Correct. I either have justification to use violence, or I do not. If we assume I have justification to use violence, then I don't care about any "honor". As long as I get to go home, and not to the hospital or the morgue (and I guess you can toss jail in there, too), its all good.

Hah.. nice clip.. once when a cocky guy was giving me trouble, i put my hands up, palms facing forward as if to say "hey man, theres no problem here" He backed off a little, and i proceeded to elbow him in the face..
Its pretty much like a sucker punch, isnt it?
Fighting dirty isnt pretty, but it gets the job done, with less risk of collecting a face full of fist.

Some thugs love to put on a show before they give a beatdown. If you know that you are going to lose, and he knows you are going to lose, what's the point of showing honor to a predator? I say strike hard and strike first- what are you supposed to do, wait until he launchs and awesome como and see if you can counter? **** that. It's the street, not a tennis match.

It's a sucker punch the description is in the name. If he gets caught with a punch like that he's a sucker. I have had people ask me during several conversations regarding MA "What happens if I sucker punch you?" Answer "I get hit" That's the idea! I am not supposed to see it coming in time to defend.

I used to use a similar trick in Judo. I would square off with my opponent, then I would get a quizzical look on my face and point at his belt. When he looked down I would rush in and get a reaping throw on him. Ah good times.
