    Totally new, Need Help!

im totally new to MA, and like to get started, but i need to no what to pick, im 15 years old, 6 ft. 135lbs. im pretty fast and flexible, not to strong. Id like something that has alot of punching but has some kicks to, also, i like standing far away from someone, not really a grappler, so what would suit me the best(thinking of kickboxing.) THnx for the help!

You like standing far away but like punching? Hmm. OK. Whats the reason you want to take martial arts?

if you were in a fight, how what would you like to do to your opponent?

    a) beat him to a bloody pulp as brutally as possible

    b) make him stop without the need to spill blood. submit him?

If you're interested in a striking art then any sort of style that engages in full contact sparring and training with "aliveness" should be fine. Definitions of aliveness can be found all over this site. Standup styles that normally include these traits are: kyokushin karate, muay thai, kickboxing, savate, sanda/sanshou etc.

    Look for:
    Boxing,
    Kickboxing,
    Muay Thai,
    Bando,
    Savate,
    San Shou/San Da,
or, if all else fails, Full Contact Karate.
Once you work out which of these is conveniently available to you, try them out and see if you like them.
