CSW or BJJ?

What are your goals? If you want to compete, why not dump the Goju-Jitsu and switch over to CSW and BJJ? If you don't want to compete, I'd probably suggest the BJJ, since that's what is going to sharpen your ground game the fastest. Also, who teaches the classes? From what I can see, a Nova Unao black belt teaches the BJJ, but who teaches CSW? If it's a tossup between a BJJ BB and someone with markedly less experience teaching the CSW, I'd jump on the BJJ train pronto.

Of course, check them both out and see which you like better.

My goal is to compete this year in both grappling and Sport Jiu Jitsu, also to get a bit more MMA like training. The CSW is taught by the school owner who was taught by Eric Paulson they have a few MMA fighters who train out of there so it's all good.

Anyways I'll see how they both are but I am leaning mroe towards the BJJ

Obviously I'll give them both a try but I am just curious as to what other people who might have been in a simillar boat have found to be better.

That looks like a really good school with a lot of cool classes. You really can't go wrong from what I can tell. Personally I would look to try to define yourself as preferring to strike or grapple so that you have a game plan should you compete sports jiu-jitsu.

I have some experience in both, but mostly BJJ.

CSW has kind of low standards for instructors, especially compared to BJJ.

Most CSW instructors took some seminars from Paulson & trained grappling on their own.

The material is fine, it's just that the only really good CSW instructors I have seen have also bee serious BJJ guys.

Even the CSW at Inosanto's is kind of weak.;Paulson is not there that much and it is mostly people of low -moderate skill level there. HE himself is excellent --don't get me wrong. But overall if it is a decent BJJ school, IN GENERAL, you will learn grappling better than at a CSW school. Odds are the BJJ teacher has a LOT more mat time than the CSW teacher.

Also Keep in mind, alot of CSW teachers ALSO teach part of or the entire Inosanto Curriculum: JKD, Kali, Wing Chun, Silat, Savate, Muay Thai, etc.
