Most practical throw ?

I would say it is Hari-Goshi (sweeping hip).

This is one throw that comes on easy for me. Its a good one to use if someone has grapped you by your rist or arm and is shoving you forward. You step back, pull them into it and its done.

I also like this because its a quick one to do and your opponant can't see it coming as easily as a standard hip throw.

Hell, to counter a throw is not hard. My Bujinkan (ninjutsu) instructer knew heaps of ways to defed against a throw. You guys pay out ninjutsu. But I can tell you know if you tried to throw any of the guys I trained with, you'd get owned no doubt about it. Unless of coarse your a national judo champion or something along those lines.

Seriously though, most practical throw for what? It entirely depends on which direction the guy is moving and the grip I've managed to get.

O-Soto-Gari. Can be done from anywhere to anyone. The only counter to O-Soto-Gari is O-Soto Gari (Grin).

Uchi Mata. It is hard to counter. It works with or without the gi. Its a high velocity throw.

O Soto Gari or the basic hip throw O Goshi. Learn those 2 and it will help with every other throw whether they're leg or hip centric.
