    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Should escaping from mount be easier than sweeping from guard?

I have a much easier time escaping the mount (via upa) than I do sweeping people from guard.

Should this be the case with a well-rounded grappler? Or does it just indicate that my guard game is weaker than my .. uhh ... mounted game?

It seems like people in my guard have a lot more options in terms of defence to any sweeps I attempt. They are able to keep posture and try to pass my legs, whereas if they have a mount, they are damn well going wherever I want them to so long as I trap the leg and arm.
