I gotta agree with "The Villian". The absolute worst feeling in the world was when I had to see one of my fighters carted off to the emergency room in an ambulance.
But KidSpatula has a point! Its very rare that someone SERIOUSLY gets hurt apart from lumps & bruises. USUALLY, the worst injury is to your pride -

Well good luck, Lee.
IMO, You should get a friend you trust who knows a thing or two about Kickboxing competetions. Get him to be your manager. You do not want to have to deal with all the legal and organisational stuff that come with each kickboxing match.
What you want is to have someone handle those things for you while you focus on training.
Don't do this thing alone. Basically you can't. You need corner-men to prep you for the fight and for each round thereafter. You need someone to train you specifically for Kick Boxing.
