    Hell yeah! Hell no!
There's nothing wrong with using an open hand to the head if you aren't wearing gloves. If it's good enough for Bas Rutten, then it's good enough for you.

The incorporation of head slaps and palms would make a very useful style that would translate very well to the street. The addition of clearly defined headbutting rules would also be great but it's probably too much to hope for. Limited grabbing as seen in Enshin would be a logical reintroduction because that facilitates sweeping which is good to watch and an excellent tactic vs a strong kicker.

I have to laugh at the idiot dismissing slaps when anyone can see how well Bas utilised them.

    Exactly.
Once open hand movements were mentioned, I immediately thought of the old Pancrase rules. Which would do well in this environment.

    True.
But maybe losing the headgear could help it more as well. Maybe for another division.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
