How the hell are ninja wanna-be scrolls that say things like "ninjutsu is the sum of things in the universe" confucian? Japanese martial art vs Chinese philosopher. Kung fu-tzu would have beaten him with his cane...

I'm truly glad that no martial art I've ever done has been based on "ancient scrolls" or anything like that. Sounds like it has an almost biblical potential for abuse and forgery.

    LOL Kung fu-tzu.

Nice going Shaolinz, this will be the next super secret kung fu style only taught to one westerner ever by some Chinese guy living in the mountains somewhere. By the end of the week we'll be getting links to some webpage about a guy in Alabama teaching the secret deadly art of Kung Fu-Tzu.

I read the article and it mentioned that Hatsumi has yet to name a succesor.

Imagine how crazy it would be if he died before naming one. The whole ninja community would be scrambling to put their own guy into the #1 spot. It would be a ninja free for all in the streets!! Ninja schools all over the world would be sending their top students to other countries to assasinate the competition. It would be total ninja chaos.

You realize Confucious = Kung Fu-Tzu. Confucious was just his name written down by the greeks (could have been the romans I forget).

I'm not even sure the universe is the sum total of things in the universe, let alone...

Yes, although I am used to seeing it written as Kong Fu Zi or just Kong Zi. But there are plenty of people who don't know that and seeing as there are a large quantity of frauds in the U.S. I wouldn't put it past someone to name a whole system after him and make all sorts of strange claims.

Latin, probably via Western European scholars. I don't think the Greeks or Romans knew about him, though I'd be happy to hear otherwise.
