Question about a TKD teacher

I've just joined this site after visiting a topic "Tae Yun Kim" gets old. I read a lot of compliants about her but no one ever got specific - just talk about her without anything to back it up. I don't study Korean styles or Karate but I'm interested in learning more about this woman - not to study, because what she does just isn't my thing. I'm curious why so much is written about her and yet I never feel like I know what she's all about. She seems more like a money making machine and I can't figure it. Does anyone from California have experiences with Tae Yun Kim that can give me an idea what's she's all about and what exactly is shady about her school......Laura

Well, she did write two biographies so stalk yourself out.

But just the titles of these other books should tell you all you need to know:

Seven Steps to Inner Power
The Silent Master: Awakening the Power Within
The First Element: Secrets to Maximizing Your Energy

I think the two bios are in Korean and probably don't say anything beyond her website. I did read "Seven Steps to Inner Power" which I promptly got rid of because that too really said nothing.

This is probably the reason people discredit her. Its not the books fault.. thats just the person in general.

The poster is an ex-student of Jung SuWon and the cult. I am also an ex-student of Jung SuWon and can give my views on some things if you'd like. And you are correct about her having a lot of money. I have been to her mansion in the Fremont area a few times and it is huge. 3 security gates just to enter the house area.
