    Hell yeah! Hell no!

So just for grins... what would get _ing _hun respected?

What would it take for you guys to stop hating on wing chun?

(Disregarding all lineage bullshido wars... I don't even remember if Yip Man Trained Ng Mui or not anymore)

    Serious (well... partly) question.

Just wondering if it would ever be possible.

Of course with all the horrible students/instructors/websites out there, the hole is already pretty deep that they have dug.

I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but I don't think anything would ever work.

It's be like that dave chappelle skit,

"Well I'd need the opponent holding two forms of government ID, his instructor their watching, An officoal UFC ref, my grandma, a couple of my homeboys, a physicist, ...."

or is it just not possible?

I predict a bright future for this thread.

As an attempt to answer your question I would think it would take someone trained purely in __ing_un to get in the ring and kick ass under mma rules. And an end to the gay lineage wars which will never happen.

Not just MMA, it could be MT rules or even Boxing rules.

As long as they, of course, admitting striking or just hand striking is all they are good for.

Someone trained primarily in Wing Chun showing up at a Throwdown and acquitting themselves well against someone competent, while clearly using Wing Chun techniques.

This would be about the minimum it would require. So far, hasn't happened to my knowledge.

I think it would take one champion to rise to the top of one lineage from the lowly position of a minor sifu's ass-to-****. Then he would proceed to kill the masters of all the lineages in mortal combat, and win a war of unification. Having united the lineages and been videoed using his street deadly techniques on any one crossing his path between WC masters, he would have to enter Pride and the UFC and beat every other competitor.

I might respect it in general then. Maybe.

See the KC mega-throwdown thread for my Wing Chun Challenge. Ther is booze and/or porn at stake!
And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

    Less talk and more action.

    And STFU about Bruce Lee.

I see. The only problem I see with that, is that if say I came to one, (not like I'm gracing y'all with my presence) but found time to travel etc...

and used mainly wing chun techniques, but saw a great opening for say a roundhouse or a hammerfist, (which are not part of the system) but I know how to, would that still be considered wing chun?

Or would it be thrown out as a hybrid?
