He doesn't, but he does like to take opportunities to test his own skill. He's entered amateur boxing matches, regional thai boxing matches, he entered "King of SenDa" as well as about 30 other competitions.
From all these matches he learns what various techniques work and what techiniques don't work, so he can further improve himself and his monk brothers.
As for fighting professionally, that was never his intent. I showed him a couple of my UFC compilation discs and he displayed interest testing his kungfu against an MMA fella. Besides, i doubt he'd ever get permission from his master to fight for cash anyway. -
