    Hey there,
I was wondering how you actually register with an MMA organisation to join in one of their events?

I showed Shi Yanfei a couple of my UFC compilation DVDs and he remarked about how (and these are his words) "Fun it looked". He expressed some interest in participating in MMA style competitions but prior to doing that, are there are prerequisites?
He seems to be quite enthusiastic and it would be quite cool to witness a yet another TMA versus MMA (although this time, I have a fair amount of confidence regarding the TMA).
Oh, another important point, would i be allowed to take a video camera?

Thanks for any info anyone can offer.

I know the UFC website has a .pdf fighter application online. Other than that, I'm not sure.

You have to send them videos of you in competition of some sort. Amateur NHB if you can find an event to enter.

    Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately i got my video camera stolen whilst in Thailand, however, my friend Xiao Yuanlin (of Longfist fame) is currently still in Thailand and i do believe she has 4 of Yanfei's final bouts against some thai boxers, would this kind of footage be acceptable?

Contact Pride, Shooto, or Rings, they're closer and be happy to kick your monk's ass.

Come on guys, admit it. It would kick SO MUCH ASS to see a monk in MMA.

Wu De, is he good? I mean, really good? Good enough to be a pro at Thai boxing, and still deal with grapplers without having years of training?

Also, being a monk and all, if he learns that he doesn't have to hit people to win, you might have to make sure he doesn't try to grapple excessively or anything.

Maybe you could hook up with an MMA coach, either local or in the US, who could teach him the ins and outs of mixed grappling and striking for a while to see if he'll be good enough before jumping right in.
