    It is similar to the guys who tap from Knee-on-belly or from a solid kesa (scarf) hold. It is really just something which the more experienced guys sit around and laugh about...and by experienced I mean guys with more than a year on the mats.

    Hell, I tapped from the well timed pressure from a knee on belly put on me by one of the pro's at my gym. I exhaled at the same time as he pulled up on my arm and leg (granted this was over a year ago) but I felt like I was going to die or my eyes were going to pop out of my skull.

    There should be a checklist of "stupid things to tap noobs with";

    1- Knee on belly,
    2- Lockdown,
    3- Grapevine from mount,
    4- Tight guard,
    5- High mount,

    etc...

    It makes a certain amount of sense that total noobs would tap by that list (not saying I'm not a noob, just not a total noob). I'm sure everyone remembers the first time they went to a BJJ practice. Even given my wrestling background, I felt uncomfortable under knee on belly etc.

    feels good that you continue to discuss the twister

    i practised the twister the last weeks as much as i could and figured out others problems to solve:

    - when you obtain the twister postion when your opponent is in kesa gatame on your right side (just position your left leg over his left leg and cross your feet). it's very hard to get a proper lockdown (figure four), how do you solve this problem.
    it's impossible to get the neck crank if you don't have the correct figure four.
    can anyone help me with that problem?

    As a total new guy on the mat 5 years ago ......

    1. Yup;
    2. Yup;
    3. Yup;
    4. Nope;
    5. Yup, but only because the guy was about 310lbs.

    Within the past year or two ........

    1. Yup;
    2. Nope;
    3. Nope;
    4. Nope;
    5. Nope.

    The reason for the change is that 1) I realized long ago that I am not in any real danger, 2) you get used to the pain, and 3) you get more comfortable being in bad positions to the point where you purposefully put yourself in them to work on getting out of them.

    The exception, IMHO, being knee on belly. Of all the pure "positions" in the BJJ hierarchy this one is by far the most brutal in the hands of someone who knows how to properly apply it.
