Maybe they're trying to toughen you up and get you to use actual contact when you spar.

I'm not misquoting ****. She's used to light contact sparring.

Controlled contact, she doesn't want to get hurt. It's all there buddy.

The only reason people are being nice to her is the first sentence:

kia21, if you don't mind me asking, what's the place that you train at?

and about the hard sparring. if you're not comfortable with it yet one thing you could do is ask them to go easy on you. i think most people won't have a problem with that.
the alternative is what everyone else said and open up a can-o-woop-ass and raise hell. no time to be humble.

People train for different reasons; so long as they are honest about it.

Nevertheless, since you, kia21, did not actually get hurt and seemed to have--from your description--handled them, it may be a good place to train. You suggest they went after you harder than students. That may be true, though I caution that it always looks easier outside of the "ring" than in it.

Thus, if it happens again, I would suggest the advice of--darn! Cannot see his post!--of the poster who responded to you that suggested you give back to them what they give if not more.

However, if you really this place is not for you, take Samuel's advice seriously. Unlike many "netizens" he does not just "play" lawyer on the web; he knows what he is talking about.

That reminds of this time in practice. This chick, who was actually very talented...more so than myself at the time; got pretty pissed at me because I was appearantly hitting her too hard. Then I later stopped going so hard and trying to take her punishment, then she got mad at me for going too easy...

    I was like huh?

I was new to striking arts at the time and practicly everybody was better than me...my main problem was learning how to control my shots and not piss people off during sparring.

anyway, My opinion is that sparring and getting hurt actually hurts your training regimine by forcing one to have to rest in order to heal from severe injuries; so hitting them harder in order to get them to stop might not be the best way to go.

Maybe just back off and ask them to calm down....
