Because we dare to challenge ideas that many people take for granted. Skeptics of the JREF forum tend to piss people off at other forums as well. It's the nature of the beast. Unless you are the type of person to agree with people, or let claims go unchallenged, you're going to piss people off.

Nobody likes having their irrational beliefs called into question. That's the natre of irrational beliefs: you have to shelter them from reality or else they'll get trampled on.
