That's the link for the dojo I located in my Phone book.
With my current teacher unable to continue my Jujutsu classes (sadly, he's being scheduled to work during the time of the class, so he had to stop for now)
Anyway, with this conundrum, I decided to look into new training possibilities, and came across this dojo, they ahve a website and everything and are damn close to me.
Now, looking at it they offer
-Aikido (yeah yeah, we know the Rep for that, and the history they give is a bit...typical. But doesn't even mention Morohei Ueshiba oddly)
-Tae kwon do/Karate-do (actually claiming it's an art called 'Chong Shin Kwan' which was created by a Master Roger A. Jarrett, who has high ranks in both Tae kwon do, and Karate-do (Ryobu-kai) and is more or less a combination of both)
-Iai-do (Now, I know it won't have much practical use these days, but it might be kinda fun to participate in that every so often)
They also imply at least occasional Judo classes on the 'schedule and location' page.
The instructor's name is Micheal Jacobs, has anyone heard of him? For his credentials he claims
-began the study of Aikido in April 1989
-He was promoted to Nidan in Aikido in 1996 by Shihan Fumio Toyoda (This Aikido rank is registered at Aikikai Foundation Tokyo, Japan)
-He was promoted to 4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do/Karate-do in October 1999
-Jacobs Sensei was promoted to Sandan 3rd degree black belt in Aikido in March 2002 by Shihan Blok
-He has also received the ranks of Shodan in Judo and Nidan in Iaido
Now, he doesn't seem to have as inflated ranks in his systems as some Bullshido artists/Mcodjo owners would, but he certainly has a lot of ranks.
I'm not entirely sure how high a Shodan is or a Nidan though.
Can anyone here help me out a bit?
PS: I'm not sure if any of this makes a difference but
they link to Aikiweb....

One often hears Japanese terms used for dan ranks. They are:
Yondan, Yodan 4-dan
Nanadan (Shichidan) 7-dan
Here is the guy's aikido "sensei": http://www.chudokai.com/blok.htm

Actually I was helping him with this: "I'm not entirely sure how high a Shodan is or a Nidan though."

Well in most modern Budo, There are 10 kyu ranks and 10 dan ranks (unless you are a bujinkan) shodan is the first blackbelt. but whos counting? Now go and post no more. You belong in noobie town.

His rank is apparantly from Shihan Kevin Blok. Bizarely if there is anyone that can convince you to train Aikido it is Kevin Blok. The guy can move.
Happily I've left the room before letting him finish convincing me, as I dont really ever want to train Aikido.
So the guys ranks are about as legit as they come. But its still Aikido."Sifu, I"m niether - I'm a fire dragon so don't **** with me!"
