Six of the bujinkan schools that are studied are samurai schools. Some ninjers were samurai as well. Some ninjers wore armour. Or something.

Think it was the evil samurais who liked to wear armor...

Timeline of my opinion of the bujinkan:
OMG this stuff is da bomb! >
>It's a martial art like any other,
they all have thier strengths and weaknesses.>
>I'll use wrestling/jujitsu as my base, as suppliment with bujinkan.>
>Bujinkan will be a little ace up my sleeve.>
>Bujinkan might give me some tricks here and there.>
>Bujinkan sucks the ass.
(disclaimer: Yes it can work if you train it alive yadda yadda yadda)
My advice if you are currently doing bujinkan is go out and train in some
wrestling, judo, bjj, anything alive. If you find that your stuff works well then well done, you officially have t3h r3al n1nj1tsu. If you find you are t3h suck then now you know, learn and grow as a martial artist. If you are too fucking scared to step onto the mat and spar then you shouldn't be in the martial arts at all. Find a local LARP group in your suburb.
