    usually when we clinch spar, which is about 20 minutes at the end of each lesson, it will be made up of guys in various stages of taking their gloves off- some with wraps, some bare handed, some with gloves.

    gotta say i find it easier to get in minus gloves.

    well yeah, avoiding getting punched overall is gonna be harder without boxing gloves, but even still, getting to the plum clinch I'd assume would still be easier because it's so much easier to grab someone without them. I think going for a body clinch would probably be easier in a non-boxing gloves situation though.

    These days I always clinch spar with gloves since that's what I've gotta prepare for anyway
