On June 6th there will be an election for the next Sheriff of LA county. There appears to be at least two contenders (Masse and Meredith) that are somewhat pro-CWP (although naturally they can't be blunt about it -- this is Kali after all). I would guess from the context of the story that California is "May Issue" and that the current Sheriff of LA County is a prick about it.
