    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    DG vs. A Street Fighter

So a friend of mine who has been in more street fights than I can count sparred with me the other day.

I didn't get owned. I already know what you're thinking.

    But I did realize that

    I COULDN'T FUCKING ATTACK HIM.

I realized that because my teacher doesn't teach attack techniques until a certain belt level...I could effectively attack!

Oh sure, I can defend...but I don't want to wait for someone to attack me all the time, right?

I'm dissapointed in myself, but I have decided to get back on the ball. So he and I are just kick boxing now. Time to lean on some of that Thai Boxing I learned so long ago.

It pisses me off that I didn't realize this until I fought him. He was waiting for me to attack...but I didn't know how I should attack. After a few exchanges I said, "**** it" and reverted to street fighting.

I still think this style is good for defense...but defense won't cut it.

Just stop trying to learn piecemeal or from people who don't train you to fight. While slight adjustments need to be made to transition from MMA to Streetfighting, they're so ridiculously minor that trying to justify having styles based on one or the other is just asinine.

Can you come in on Friday morning, around 10?

Cool thanks man! Could you tell me about the horse-bench form's applications? I've seen bits and pieces of its history in wing chun but wonder how it works in a modern setting.

    Cheers!

I will get back to you later tonight with an answer. I think I close on Friday, all I'd need to find is gas money.
