Thanks. I thought it was just me. We will have to wait and see if the same excuse is added to the sparring 2-1 video.

Tantojutsu
Japanese tantojutsu uses the knife in the rear right hand. Of course, it was not a dueling style of knife fighting and assumed you lost your sword and had to run your blade under/through some armor.
I have been shown some shanking/shiving methods that have the knife in the rear hand. Not very pretty, but very effective.
However, the attacker was being pretty passive. Probably because he knew it was a "drill" of some type.
It upsets me when schools do stuff in tests that the student has had zero training for. What is the point?
My 3rd dan TKD test was like that, find improvised weapons. Problem for my teachers was that I had been training in another dojo while at school. I actually had learned some things in the past year and showed them what ugly things yawara and tanbo can be using a short pipe casing I found. Although the test was "hard" (physically exhausting), I am not sure what it really tested. *shrug*
It was a heck of a lot better than that poop, though. -

I didn't think it was that bad either. Definately better than the typical everybody attacks one at a time and magically freezes in time while you let off your 100 hit combo vis-a-vis your typical EPAK school.
