Is it your contention that the toris (or however the hell you pluralise it) in that clip were attacking Ikeda with a serious intent to hit him?

We know it's not trained with resistance because it's regular **** Aikido. Why do you types believe if you resist someone's techniques you are going to die? I was unaware of Shodokan's styles high death rate.

If you are trying to say that no one said that aikido does or does not work, then you are innocrrect. I said it doesn't work, at least not as demonstrated in these videos. I don't give a rat's ass what dan the guy is, who he's trained under or if he has gay sex with Morihei Ueshiba himself. It's shitty technique that will not work in the real world.

Edited to add: for an aikidoka, you're pretty shitty at avoiding conflict

All I have are the videos that are available ... and I have seen quite a few Aikido videos . I guess you could say that would be considered enveloping myself in stupidity .

If you could arrange a seminar in western Kentucky I would love to go and see the "real aikido" ... but if I resisted .. would Sensei say he was no longer doing Aikido ?

What would he be doing ? JJJ ? AJJ ?

In case you guys didn't get it Shodokan is the proper name for the Tomiki style. Backfist Monkey you could of went to Ohio March 11 and saw an Aikido tournament. I didn't see it but it was weird becaue it was an open weight open gender tournament.

Am I correct in thinking that you're limited to Aikido syllabus techniques in these competitions?

Yes you're limited to the 17 basic techniques.
