This is why I hate terminology like "anti-grapple" because it is going to get confusing when people market it because it is a good catchphrase.

I always thought anti-grappling was just a sprawl, counter, reversal, a defence to a lock or grappling tactic or something that could fit into that kind of category.

Some things work- and some are just kooky techniques that don't work.

Isn't an "Anti-punch" a block or a slip?

Why do people get so up in arms about the term "anti-grapple" when a sprawl, counter, or reversal, etc. is a defence to a grappling technique making it an "anti-grapple"?

I know people use it for bs things often- but technically isn't it just another word for grappling defence, like is bieng used in the ad here?
