    "ahhhhhhhhh.....derrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"
That was an excellent question by Ed and a terri-bull answer by MeatHead.

If meathead really know his ****, he would have said to pump up the cardio, keep eating protein, cut the carbs, get enough fiber, and reduce the total amount of calories ingested every day for a couple of weeks. It is safe and simple. One can actually drop a LOT OF WEIGHT eating shitloads of chicken and meat.

A nutritionist worth its salt would have been able to answer that. The more that I look at it, the more that I think Shamrock really fucked it up.

I bet that sooner or later in the show the guys are going to do a mutiny to get a grappling coach (and I hope so.)

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

The first guy to get picked was the deaf guy. Tito liked how he asked a lot of questions and seemed to really be interested in learning. Shamrock's last pick was the Brit with the really round head.

Swear to god dude looks like the yellow guy from sin city.

I kept thinking last night "no wonder lion's den hasn't had a top competitor in years". The strength and conditioning guy is just one part of it. It wouldn't be bad if the meathead were on top of his game (he ain't) and they were worried about the physical challenges (aren't any).

And how he picked the fighters - strongman-type ****? Bad move old man.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

I also missed the last 10 minutes of the show.Spike TV has a bad habit of starting 'Ultimate Fighter' later than scheduled so that if you VCR/DVD timer record the show while you're somewhere else you miss the last 5 - 10 minutes.Fortunately they are playing several repeats of that episode over the next week though.

So you can't afford cable but can afford to waste time lecturing people about priorities and making boob jokes on an internet forum?

    Method to Shammy's Madness

I have been thinking about it.

Consider that you only have 6 weeks to work with these guys and a fight a week. If their ground game isn't good how much better will they be in that short period of time?

Instead Shammy seems to be concentrating on working their on their strength's and improving their conditioning.

I think it is easier to improve someones striking and cardio in a short period than their submission and Jiu Jitsu skills.

Because of the short schedule I think that Shamrock may have made a very clever decision in bringing in his S&C coach (assuming the guy is any good,) instead of a sub specialist.

    time will tell
