    That one uses the gi. Not the belt. Gi chokes are fair game, belt chokes are not.

    Don't belts come untied on their own though?

    I've done belt chokes rolling, but I've only done nogi comps.

    If this were made legal, wow, the changes it might cause. People would go to matches wearing more than one belt to immediately take off and use. There would be an instant market in special "sandpaper rough" belts, ultra narrow choking belts, maybe even specially weighted belts. People would start reading bondage books to find out how best to tie up their opponents, or maybe rodeos since they train with aliveness on resisting animals, and it might raise questions as to whether a hog-tied fighter who can't move is stalling. That white belt has opened the door to an entirely new sport.
