    Need to improve my punching

I take TKD. I work on basic boxing techniques by myself and perfect them as much as I possibly can. But i think it's time for an instructor.

For better hand skills, keeping in mind I already do Taekwondo, would it be wiser to add kickboxing or boxing?

I'm just worrried if I take pure boxing, I won't learn how to use hands and feet at the same time?

drop TKD and take up muay thai. Taking up boxing would be great, but you don't have any clue how to kick effectively, or defend kicks as it is.

    Welcome to bullshido.

It won't take you long to discover who the Muay Thai nutriders are around here. With regards to you question I would go for kickboxing for the reason you suggested. That you would get more 'complete' conditioining. And if you are happy the your Taekwon do training, then keep it.

I must admit, Taekwon do guys may not have the hardest kicks around, but their technique and agility is impressive.

To bad their technique and agility goes away when someone is punching them.

It shouldn't take long to figure out who the village idiots are, either.

    Good call.

I'll get straight to the meat of the matter.

Muay Thai sucks the sweat from a baboons balls and Kyokushin rules.

ANd for your information, I've met some TKD guys who can kick hard and have no problem with full contact fighting.

Go get a good boxing coach.

You can stand and write your name, right?

    You'll be fine.

My training partner kicks from TKD with plenty of power. He makes it work fine.

But most TKDers don't. Or do they?

Thanks but I think I'll pass. But if you know of any good free porn sites I might change my mind.

Seriously though. There's no need to be so defensive. My intitial post was directed towards kidspatula. I was trying to point out the idea that Taekwon do guys/girls have no fighting ability or cannot hit with power is simply not true.
