I dont know about that but then again Mark Hunt gets -no- press here. at all. when he won the k-1 GP they didnt even show it on tv. its a lot more popular these days though, but now he fights out of australia

    Fat Tony? :5yo:
Any David Tua fans here ever see his fight with Ike Ibeabuchi? Ibeabuchi was a tremendous fighter who, in my opinion, would have been a champion if he didn't end up in prison. He was like Evander Holyfield in his prime but with tremendous power punching capability.
If any of you have not seen Tua's match with him you should definitely try and see it.

fighters, especially in kickboxing and MMA get no attention from the media at all in aus. there are 2 or 3 boxers you might see on the news very occasionally. i wouldn't be surprised if it's the same deal in NZ.

yep. Hunt beats silva? NO word of it anywhere in new zealand. MMA as a sport does not exist as far as media here is concerned. in fact before about 2 years ago they never showed k-1 unless Ray Sefo was on and even then it was at like 11:30 on a sunday night or some stupid ****.

although I have to say, Dixon McIver, the guy who organises k-1 n new zealand, has done huge amounts for the local scene. especially with the k-1 oceania qualifier being held here earlier this year with guys like Aerts and Schilt in attendance. even so it doesnt register a spot on the 6 o clock news even though we have half of the news hour dedicated to sport.

it's just crazy. i try to tell as many people as i can that MMA even EXISTS... they often are very confused by the idea and start talking about karate or boxing. in general, most boxers i meet HATE MMA.

His style is very similar to Tyson because they are the same height. He doesn´t have as good speed or headmovement as Tyson had in his prime though...
