look through the above thread, and you can see how some of these are constructed.
More than one is taken apart.

Afterwards, it is pretty easy to understand why most people do not allow people to practice with these. There is a reason they are so cheap, and i certainly don't want to be around when someone is cutting, wether in the air, or trying to actually practice cutting with one.

Plus it makes it easy to understand why that one broke in the famous home shopping video.

stainless steel might be a great idea for kitchen knives but for something that has to withstand stress, well the best picture award winning film speaks for itself.

I busted the cheap-o plastic handle off the wall-hager Wakazashi i picked up for $90.
It was just like the one shown in the thread put up by the OP.

It still kicked ass. *shrug* I abused the hell out of that thing.

A friend of mine once tried to kill some air with a particularily useless wallhanger, the blade simply loosened and went flying all over his room, spinning hitting everything, the ceiling, the walls, before finally landing on the floor. MAN that "sword" sucked...
