Crazyman, also if you get hit in the back of your head it can cause you to momentarily go blind and lose some motor control in your hands.

To the idiots who say that you can beat a submission grappler with "small joint manipulation" I suggest you watch the Patrick Smith vs Ken Shamrock fight in UFC 1.

Isn't the general idea that if I manipulate someone's small joints, they're gonna manipulate my large joints in retaliation?

The mere idea that a thread this stupid could go on sooooo long is proof that humans are destined to die out.

I think the real general idea is that people arent gonna pay 40 fuckin dollars to see a finger bending contest.

    Heh - that too.

Above poster is right though - this thread sucks. If work weren't so boring I'd care about it even less.

Yes. And I can teach you the secret technique of breaking the bottom brick in a stack without breaking the others. While a perfect punch to the back of the head can be a very bad thing, from what I hear and have seen, rabbit punches tend to do little more than hurt pretty bad.

And to the guy who said MMA fighters are sloppy, check out a Cro-Cop roundhouse or Vitor Belfort flurry and say that again. And I'd rather get hit in the secret death nerve from a skinny chinese Wing Chun master than take a haymaker to the face from Tank Abbott anyday.

A proper double leg is done with the head up and the back straight. The head should be against the stomach or tucked tightly against the side to prevent the guillotine. It's not bending over at the waist and charging in blindly with your head down. How the **** are you gonna punch someone in the back of the head like that with any kind of power?

If you really want to stop a double leg spend your time learning to sprawl instead of theorizing about what might work against trained grapplers.

Or you could always knee them in the face. That is the anti-grapple technique of Kings.

I'm a cattle catcher myself, but you still gotta sprawl out first no matter what you do to defend the shot.
