Yep, aware of that I was. As for what most folks in the Western world think of as "lifting weights", he was most definitely not a fan. Club swinging, climbing ropes, pull-up & dip bars, and grip machines (Captains of Crush, etc) are pretty much it for his equipment.

    Sorry, the sand's already there.

I'm no fan of Furey since I was doing vyayam before I ever heard of him.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

    ... & here's a decent page from Wiki:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Gotch
& he would have kicked your ass even when he was in his 60's.
The primary part of his p.t. was not called "Combat Conditioning" but is actually Vyayam, a very effective calisthenic form of Yoga, used by great Indian wrestlers such as Gama or the Bux brothers... all of whom are dead but would have easily kicked your ass. You can read about them in the "Lion of the Punjab 1-4" series here: http://ejmas.com/jalt/jaltframe.htm
The Bux brothers easily handled guys that lifted weights all the time and that were huge.

    This guy, Imam Bux...

... beat this guy, John Lemm, easily...

    http://ejmas.com/jalt/tani/JohnLemm.jpg
The Bux brothers did basically the same exercises as those that Karl was an advocate of, short of maybe some log dragging or club swinging.

    So show some friggin' respect.

Dude, the post was a reference to Farmer Burns, not Karl Gotch. Show some friggin' respect =P

I didn't see the date on your post, I thought that you were talking about Karl Gotch. Of course, it doesn't change the overall tone of your posts.

I guess you're not the only one that's guilty of not reading other peoples posts...

In reference to the title of the post.

"Bodyweight nuts are out of control"

I think http://www.Bodyweightculture.com changed a lot of that.

Still I see people selling videos on how to workout on how to workout in the play ground.

What do you mean? I read your post where you said that I was talking about Karl Gotch when I was talking about Farmer Burns. I also read where everyone corrected you, but you never apologized nor did anyone actually say "Farmer Burns", so I made my post to set the facts straight.
