MMA sparring- unfair to strikers

For those of us who prefer slugging it out like men rather than rolling around like fags MMA sparring is kinda unfair. You don´t get to hit people like you would in a real fight. The world needs some type of soft gloves that can be used for striking and still kept on when you´ve gotten to the ground. Someone needs to invent that ****.

there are 8oz MMA sparring gloves that have the cushioning of a 16oz glove.

there is some point to this. there have even been people on this board that said they sparred with medium striking, but the person going for the takedown is trying 100%

I actually agree with this. The solution is to get tougher training partners that wont whine when you hit them hard enough to have an effect. The gloves Ashly mentioned are from Primetime, google them.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, especially when sparring MMA with grapplers aho want you to go "light contact" striking and no face contact, but full on grappling =P.

My favorite piece of gear is the full face shield helmet. Not for me, but my partner. I know, I know, causes bad habits, but it's like the only time I can unload a full face shot at my partner and not feel bad.

WOW the form factor is so minimal a person so inclined could likely even chain punch in those!

How the hell would you do a takedown with "less then full power" and does it involve a bosnian force field?
