The string hanging from the ceiling thing was presented to me as a dynamic stretching tool.

Basically you hang a string/shoe lace/dental floss/whatever from the ceiling and kick at it. Not hard, just controlled and light. You can do this without a string too, but the string gives you something to aim at and a way to chart your progess.

Replace paper with a tennis ball, or any ball similar in size and it's pretty decent for working slipping and accuracy. The paper doesn't have nearly enough mass to actually come at you with any speed, and the tiny dot is way overdoing it. Even if you are aiming for one specific place on someone, it's never that small. Not by a long shot.

I'll admit to trying the paper method before I had a bag to work with, or wised up and tried the tennis ball method. If hit with any force it would go flying. The only thing at all good about it was that if you hit with too much push and not enough snap the paper wouldn't make much noise, but if you retracted your punches quickly it would make a pleasent crack. There's no harm in trying seeing how it's just paper and string, but at the same time there's not much (if anything) to be gained.

    edit - what GJ said.

Sounds similar to a slip ball which is a useful piece of equipment.

But I'd think the piece of paper would be too light.

Amazing. I started a thread to ASK about something I never heard about and which I though was weird and everyone suddenly goes like ''CRUCIFY HIM CRUCIFY HIM''

I suggest the creation of a space-time rift hole to be attached to people's monitors. Each time someone talked **** out of his ass, you send a bidimensional right straight in their mouths through their monitor screen.

And so the Internet would be fixed.

The greatest advice for all training can be found in the movie Dodge Ball.

"If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball."

Same thing with fists or feet. Go out and get some "friends" to throw wrenches at you.

    Now that's training!

    Mind Bullets

This type of training is to learn to focus Chi balls from the mind.

Hang the paper then get your face about 3 inches from the paper.

Focus you mind on the dot and then exhale sharply.

You will see the paper move.

    It really works!:bduh:
People often tell me that I fail to see the gravity of the situation.
I see the gravity, and I say...

Step right up folks and watch me defy gravity!
