Is that wrong? We have a Blue belt in charge of a section here. Try and guess which one?

That thread makes me cringe. Just like the other day when a co-worker of mine busted out, "UFC is great and all, but just once I'd like to see a REAL martial arts master go in there an show what he can do". His implication being today's fighters are just brawling with little or no technical skill and making me guess he hadn't seen a fight in at least a few years.
It wasn't brought up in the thread, but there have been worked (def:faked/predetermined) fights in the UFC, although they were based on an agreement between the two fighters without any prior knowledge on UFC's part. Now that MMA is regulated here by the athletic commisions, any fighter caught taking a dive faces severe sactions.
Japan is a different story altogether. The line there between MMA and prowrestling is definitely blurred, and even mostly legit organizations sometimes have worked fights. Pride had several hig-profile works in its early years, and every now and again discussions start up when a fighter has a questionable performance. -
and good morning to you too
