Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

My crapuous vlog and my blog of training, stuff and crap. NEW: Me, Mrs. Macho and our newborn baby.

New To Weight Training? Get the StrongLifts 5x5 program and Rippetoe's "Starting Strength, 2nd Ed". Wanna build muscle/gain weight? Check this article. My review on Tactical Nutrition here.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Don't get all bent out of shape folks when I talk about "know". No matter what/how you train, no one "knows" for sure if anything will work in a real situation UNTIL it happens. Up until then all you have is personal choice in how you want to prepare for that occurrence. You choose, and take responsibility for that choice. Chi Sau has prepared me well.

Chi Sau has many applications, as already posted. (Taking and controling the centreline, energetic sensitivty, balance, structure, hand replacement, specific technique apllication, coordination and power development).

The best thing about Chi Sao is the muscle relaxation, which is essential for good power development in Wing Chun. However, you need to actually practice your punches on something if you want to develop good power. Sparring, which translates into two opponents trying to best each other, will probably get someone without much experience in this kind of muscular relaxation and energetic explosion of the tendon to get carried away. This is not a problem when you use weight based punching systems.

Real situations and RCMP "use of force" training against multiple attackers to name a few.

How do you know the "real situations" weren't really just scrubs?

And, sidestepping the Dudely DoRight jokes and also the whole "multiple attackers" absurdity for the moment, are you just saying YOU SPARRED? If not, then how does it differ?

Kagan. If you are truly curious about my experiences, then pm me. I suspect you are not truly interested but just wanting to do some verbal chi sau. This thread is about chi sau aplications, so let's try and stick to it, no?

    "Application" is the key word.

I am interested. However, I'm not particularly interested in your "shhhhhh, I'll tell you the secrets but only privately" nonsense. If you think you have something to say about "ChiSao applications", then say it.

If you cannot talk in a public forum about how you "know" there is any application at all for your ChiSao, and if you do not see how that is relevant to your attempt to control and limit the thread to "ChiSao application", then there is no particular reason for you to post at all in a public forum. However, to humor you, I will PM you.

Edit: PM system giving errors. I'll try again later.

What secrets?? Am refering to my personal experiences, not "secret WC/chi sau techniques. Holy F*%$k read my posts, and try responding instead of reacting. Unless you do this don't expect me to respond to your BS - so there you can have the last word brother.
