The picture is bad as well ... but I found the picture only accented the Bullshido flair of the whole article the whole "student of the MONTH medal" .

"stand behind" can mean alot of different things ... I hope in this instance it was the article not the picture ... becouse I can't really find anything wrong with picture itself , besides the fact that it makes me want to vomit a little when combined with the story .

Personaly I would never "stand behind" a prospective 7 year old black belt as a "star pupil " . It would be a Miracle if Ryan (the kid in the photo) flew to Thailand and competed against some 7 year old Thai fighters by their own rules and still wanted to be a "martial artist" afterward .

Looking at the picture, it seemed to me that the instructor was wearing the kid's head like a medal...maybe an "instructor of the month" medal?

That would be an awesome event , if you were in the second grade .You know one of those : unsupervised , school yard , no rules , by the swingset type of event .

But then again according to a couple other threads here on Bullshido and the research I did spurned by those threads and peoples responces . I have come to the conclusion that only children under that age of 14 being exploited ( made to fight in the ring ) in third world countries have the right to have hold a black belt in anystyle ... and yes I think they should be aloud to pick from any stand up system they want .

You **** brains seem to think there is some sort of shamen-cosmic truth-secrets of the old ones-magic-ritual inducing power in A black belt. It is just a damn peice of cloth. It holds a gi shut and is black. Whats the fucking problem? You dont think kids should be doing MA? Instead They should be hooked up to the internet so they can be stalked by molesters?

On the o0ne hand, all you little keyboard toughguys go on and on about MMA being the only "real" Fighting arts in the world. They you get all upset when you see a kid wearing a black belt. Big fucking deal. Most TMA schools have a Jr. black belt. Jr. meaning not Adult.

Most TMA schools even tell the kids that the3 black belts are not "real" black belts. So who gives a ****? If the kids are in the dojo they are off the streets, off the net, off the nintendo, and off the porn.

MMA is about compeating and fighting. the TMA are about other stuff as well.

Lay off the kids. go after the **** heads teaching adults the stupid ****. Bitching about a kid wearing a black belts makes it seem like mabey someone is jelouse.

The instructor's stance is very upright, his feet look very close together. I am worried he may fall over with that narrow stance.

Being from TMA schools I would disagree with the "most" statement. At least in my area these blackbelts are the same blackbelts worn by the best adults.
