It is his more philosophical crap that gets me.

I liked one article of his that I read about aliveness. I'm pretty sure the article referenced in the OP could have been summed up in a paragraph or less. Here is my opinion about BJJ belts, summed up in convenient bullet form:

1.) Bel color is generally a good indicator of skill.
2.) Belt color/Rank should never be taken as law. Find out for yourself.
3.) Belt color does not say much about you as a person.
4.) My girlfriend is a very perky C. VERY perky.

In conclusion, my girlfriend has a near perfect combination of natural size and perkiness, and Matt Thorton should learn that brevity is a blessing, not a sin.

Seriously, shut the **** up and train.
He reminds me of Joe Rogan in that sense. The guy who trips a couple times, then thinks they've uncovered the secret of the fucking universe.

What I don't understand is if SBG is supposed to not be an actual gym, but an organization of gyms that believe in common training goals

("We are an organization that is literally built of, and on, each and every one of its members, and their individual questions, experiences, discoveries, needs and concerns. That includes both males and females, from age 4 through to those well over 54. People who train for reasons spanning fun, fitness, recreation, sport, self-defense on through to specialized agencies, facilities and units.

We are not an MMA gym, BJJ federation, JKD school, firearms facility, self-defense academy or fitness center. We are each, and all of those and much, much more; integrated and systematically comprehensive through the blood, sweat, trials and critical thinking of training through, and with, aliveness.")
How can something Thornton says be applied to all SBG locations? Almost every SBG trains/thinks a little different, Thornton is a seperate entity.

Clearly Mr. Thornton is in dire need of an editor just like you.

Also you should back up that claim of perkiness. This is Bullshido after all. I'll believe it when I see it.
Shut the hell up and train.

So wait - are you saying odds are nil - or about nil - because in my book there is a big difference!

Sorry about that. GB's reading comprehension is a little slow on the uptake today.

And no, I'm not going to do any such thing to my poor girlfriend. Besides, she's out of town on Spring Break right now. Some people apparently think partying in Miami is more fun than training for a bjj tournament.

Interesting article - a little rambling, even but Thornton standards.

About halfway down are some weird pictures of SBG UK director Carl Tanswell in strange, very on-functional poses. I am proud to say I was at that workshop, and that Carl Rocks!

In that case, no need to discuss it any more; there'll be pictures of her tits surfacing rapidly without any intervention from you.

This would not surprise me in the least.
