Was checking out one of those 'blue bombers' today at the gym, one of our guys got one and likes it, seems real nice, is very light and same basic design as the leathr version that costs twice as much. Don't know how durable it is for the long run, but for 30 bucks it seems pretty good.
Was looking at the chest protector i mentioned and the label is a) so faded its illegible, and b) in chinese anyway. I'll ask Josh tonight if he knows where they originally got it from and where you could get one. It is very light, the armor is just vertical battons of something like fiberglass or kevlar, it is maybe 1/2" thick max, there is no squish to it.
The other ones that we use that are bulkier and heavier are from Ringside, we usually just wear for drills to let someone practice body shots on us, but they are still better and less bulky than the TKD style protectors. -

I think I am going to order 2 chest protectors from Thaismai's store:
http://www.thaiboxingware.com/
they are not reversible, but I can order 2 for the price of some of the other ones, and they'll be leather.
Thanks everyone. -

Training gear help anyone?
I'm on the search for a good set of boxing headgear and some instep shin protectors. I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with different brands or perhaps recommend something?
Note that cost is a factor as I am not rich.
Any help would be appreciated thank you. -

I have the Air Max it is really comfortable training head gear. I also always recommend Aries Fight Gear for their sale prices and fast shipping.
