I'v never worn it myself but I use their regular headgear when sparring and its top notch stuff.

that isnt the point, you arent being hit in the face. being hit in the cage thats covering your face=/=getting one in the nose and having your eyes water up. you need to know what that is like otherwise when it does happen you are unprepared

Secondly I think there should be a difference between keeping training real and getting your face mashed up every time you do full contact sparring.

very few full contact fighters do full contact sparring. save that **** for the ring, it isnt neccessary and one of two things happens-

1)you spend all your time in the ER
2)you develop into a hermit crab and do nothing during sparring but shell up

Do you only use the front-open boxing headgear you have on your video?

I wish I could send little electric shocks through the internet to zap someone every time they say "full contact sparring". There's no such thing. Stop saying it.

Although the terms are generally understood by people who know what they're talking about, wouldn't it be easier for newbies/idiots if "contact" was replaced with "intensity", i.e. medium-intensity sparring, full-intensity sparring, etc.

It's kinda like the armbar-kneebar terminology problem. ****, there's a term for this kind of terminology mixup, I just can't think of it at the moment.

...requiring headgear, I like Top Ten. It is not very cumbersome, doesn't impede vision too much, and stays put for the most part in the clinch. It doesn't do much to reduce impact, but will prevent cuts above the eye in most cases.

I don't like Top Ten headgear because it's ugly
