oh, I guess those are the cheaper version of the pair I have. I've never used those.

I like the Fairtex ones very much; they have cloth on the surface that's touching your skin, so less slipping due to sweat.
And they have even more padding than the Top Contenders. Which I actually see as more of a benefit to my sparring partners than to me. (Which is how I view shin pads in general -- more as protection for the kickee than the kicker.)
Of course, the extra padding also lets me kick them harder in good conscience.:angel2:

man, I feel totally the opposite. I don't really care much if my sparring partner kicks me without shinpads. I just don't the feeling of banging my shin into someone's knee, and especially not unpadded.
Omega, I can only take that as a compliment to the more expensive pair of shinpads, since we all know that female fighters are more bad ass than male fighters (who are, for the most part, cheese dicks).

No no no, they were forced to wear shin guards by pussies.

Er...pussies like Masakatsu Funaki, Minoru Suzuki, Yusuke Fuke, and...Ken Shamrock? The founders of Pancrase? LOL!
