I'm sorry, I made a mistake (guess a was half asleep). This is the variation on the 4th technique (not the choke).

And yes, those pictures seem to be exactly what you are saying. Also, not doing ukemi, i.e. falling like regular untrained people, will teach you as much about grappling as standing still to receive a kick in your face (like regular untrained people) will teach you about kicking. :f-off:

Aikido techniques can work when applied. The trick is applying them. The training unfortuantly does not usually give you a chance to learn the little things that trial and error through sparring and resistence give you.

And of course we don't believe in hitting in Aikido. DON'T LET ANYONE, EVER, TELL YOU OTHERWISE!!! :toothy12:

Although there is always something that will hit you harder...

    Oops, I forgot this one.
Please!, don't be confused, do not think he is about to hit him with his right fist. For God's sake this is aikido!!!, we DO NOT believe in hitting. He is just checking if the guy smells before letting him in the class.

um...I'm not quite sure, but to me it seemed Shin was defending Aikido, not mocking it. Perhaps picking up sarcasm online isn't my strongest point though.

I always wondered what happened to James Van Der Beek. From this photo, it is obvious that he was killed for attacking his Aikido master.
