Smit was a hell of a fighter.
Heres a thread with a lot of really good photos from various times in his career:

*true story:
K-1 USA 2000 in Vegas:
Jason Johnson (Muay Thai) vs Tomasz Kucharzewski (Kyokoshin karate)
I was sitting in the stands and I've seen Tomasz fight before. I was telling my friend that this guy hits hard and this kid turns around and tells me his brother is going to fight him. I told the kid I hoped his brother is ready because Tomasz hits really hard.
First Round Tomasz comes out and KO's the guy cold. The kid starts bawling his eyes out in front of me and the dad tells the son that I'm an asshole let's go.

yer... Smit had pretty rough looking boxing skills. good jaw though (on both parts) and balls. and probably about 20kg over Changpuek who is way overblown for a thai anyway. great fight though, holy **** at changpuek just taking those elbows at the end of round 1 like it aint no thang

TKD VS Kyokushin in the Cage. The irony is that it's a punch to the head that finishes the fight and niether TKD or KK use it in their competitions

You can't practice Judo just to win a Judo Match! You practice so that no matter what happens, you can win using Judo!-Daniel ToshThe key to fighting two men at once is to be much tougher than both of them.
