Super Safe ("Shorinji Kempo") Sparring Gear: Anyone familiar with this stuff?

I don't play around and put my balls in danger ... I always wear a cup when I KNOW I am gonna be kicked/punched/grappled .

But some good boxing head gear would be nice to own , I won't lie .

Agreed, although I've known some people that don't. A former instructor told me that he knew a couple of KK practioners that are sterile because they took some hard, albeit accidental groin shots. They had no idea until a visit to a fertility clinic after failed attempts to start a family.

That stuff looks pretty flimsy. It's used for light contact competitions.

If you are that afraid of a black eye, wear a metal cage on boxing headgear.

If you want to protect your ribs...get a TKD chest protector or MT coach's chest protector, more widely available.

However, what you really ought to do is tell your sparring partners you don't want to spar hard if you don't want to spar hard...
