I bought one of his books years ago. To me, it was just a book about how to transition karate techniques to the street. One thing that I never forgot is that he like to have his students buy a bunch of fruit and practice eye gouges on the fruit by shoving your fingers into the fruit and ripping the guts out! I would love to walk up on a bunch of people doing that!!!
I do agree that running cardio doesn't translate well to rolling cardio. I also enjoyed reading the style fields from these older posters.Combatives training log.

I used to play that game when I was 17 or 18; I thought the 'Ripping and Tearing Techniques of Shaolin' were the real ****. I would have been better off to foom with the chunners.
After a few years of training and life in the real world, I shook my head and walked away. People starving in this world and I'm destroying perfectly good fruit.

I knew I'd seen him somewhere, then it came to me: a Seanbaby article!

He's in some Youtube vids too:
^ series about "dirty fighting". Aside from the aliveness issues with "dirty fighting", to me it didn't even seem like particularly good dirty fighting. Instead of the normal eye gouges, headbutts etc, we see slapping the elbow (not illegal in sportfighting), a crappy sprawl thing followed by sport-legal hammerfists, shoving a guy into an aikido roll to avoid a chair (?!?), then dissecting how to slap a guy on the beanbag. -

I saw this as I scrolled through your post:
The hood mentality is crippling disease, that attacks your nervous system. It makes you nervous of the system. Gangsters and hood rats are especially susceptible to this growth stunting mentality. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. --Keith David--Ice Cube

I didn't mind that video so much. The information wasn't outrageous - for instance, he didn't make stupid claims about what slapping the ear might do. However, I do take issue with him thinking the brachial plexus is in the face.
Oh, and there's him exclaiming "FOOM" all the time, but that's just ... y'know. -
