    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Technical intricacies (ninja tricks)

I really like learning, or figuring out, little details that make subs more effective.
For instance, as someone mentioned in this thread, pulling your foot back to flex your calf in order to strengthen a triangle.
I figure you guys have a lot of neat stuff to share, that I could learn from, so come on and educate me, plz.

Everything from noob basics to the truly innovative. Share your secrets!

Whilst the lack of specificity irritates me, (do you even know just how broad what you've asked is?) I'll bite.

    Arm-inside guillotine w/monkey grip:

When going for this choke, drag your hands across the neck/shoulders until your hands are under the inside arm's armpit for maximum tightness. If the arm is properly across the neck, the guy will tap without too much effort on your part.

The toe advice goes for both feet and for almost every sub.

Yes. It's amazingly broad. However, wouldn't it be cool if we turned this into some sort of ninja trick encyclopedia?

Flexing your calf, you mean? Care to elaborate?

Probably nothing new to anyone, but flexing my (huge) bicep, and clenching my fist does good things for an RNC.

I've tapped people just by gripping their shoulder gi cloth in preperation for an RNC, and then squeezing my bicep. I can't recommend that as a sub by itself since it's obviously much weaker than a real RNC, but it's a good detail to keep that pressure on I guess.

    on armbar from the guard:

when you throw your leg over, instead of crossing your feet, close you legs (squeze your hamstrings). The one at the head neck also turns a bit(knee goes towards other leg). The lower leg is as high under their unattacked arm as possible, and of course you are closing your leg. This makes the armbar much tighter; moreover, because your legs are bent, you can better utilize your ass muscles in pulling the person down. Another benefit, if they start to lift you are stuck onto them so they aren't losening the pressure on their arm any, and they have to lift all your weight. *make sure your hips and side are completely off the ground, if they ain't then you are not squezing properly/enough*

When throttling someone it is best to have your thumbs on their trachea.
