Same thing happened to one of our guys. He got stomped in his first fight and we later found out that the guy he was fighting had had several fights and not none as was claimed.

One fighter beating another is obviously not a clear indication of one style's dominance over another as has been said. That said however, in this instance the so called MT guy did get his arse handed to him. :eusa_booh

work or not, it's not that unreasonable to assume that in a sanda ruleset, the kickboxer+wrestler is going to throw the pure kickboxer on his ass quite often. i heard thai guys want to remain pure MT clinch work etc...well, could you guess the outcome? both would fare badly in MMA unless they spend a lot of time training groundfighting, so who cares.

note: i'm using the terms wrestling and kickboxing to generalize.

when san shou guys start beating actual top ranked MT fighters maybe someone will care. either way its pretty dumb because MT=/=san shou, different ruleset, different game.

That is very Zen. So if speaking against a nutrider turns one into a nutrider, then anyone who comments about one nutriding against a nutrider must also be a nutrider. Anyone who responds or objects to these comments must be a nutrider, and so the cycle perpetuates itself.

You may have just invited the wanton slaughter of this entire site.

Or how about Buakaw vs. a top Sanda fighter for a 3 fight set.

    1st fight Sanda rules
    2nd fight MT rules
3rd fight true Sanda vs. MT, Sanda is allowed to use their techniques, MT is allowed to use theirs.

Of course you would have to spread the fights out over several months to give recovery time in between bouts.

My actual point was that if you take someone out of their element, they probably aren't going to win the fight. But seeing a "Clash of the Titans" Muay Thai vs. San Shou/Sanda would be cool.

True. Hell, I take a "Clash of the Titan's" of any group of styles right about now. Speaking of which, I think we are having a Clash of the Titans on this Saturdays UFC... Not to derail, but its a card that one shouldn't miss.

What I'm saying is, people are often being nutriders themselves when they call others nutriders, because they're so desperate to cling onto some "evidence" of their style kicking ass. Though, rather than people saying "That muay thai fighter SUCKED!" it would probably sound a bit less nutriderish to say "That sanda fighter really outclassed that muay thai fighter." It all goes back to that fighter>training method>style thing.

Good, the vast majority of this site's members suck anyway. Though, I really thought this site was supposed to be about bullshit in the martial arts, rather than style vs style.

I hope I didn't sound like I was dissing Sanda. My point of this thread is I felt the fights were thrown or mismatched. I wanted to see if anyone notice anything about them that I didn't. Seems I'm not the only who thought along the same lines.
